Ms. Carrie Boogaart

Personal Profile

Hi!  I am Carrie Boogaart this year will mark the beginning of my fourth year of teaching at Timothy Christian!  Although Elmhurst isn’t where I am from originally, over the years, Timothy has helped make it feel like home.  It has been such a privilege to witness and be apart of the distinct Christian community here at TCS, I look forward to many more years serving here.

Professional Profile

I grew up in Ada, MI where I had the privilege of attending Christian Schools for my entire academic career.  I graduated from Calvin College in the spring of 2007 with a B.A. in elementary education, minoring in language arts and math.  From there took my first teaching job at Randolph Christian School in Randolph, WI where I taught a third and fourth grade combination class.  For the past couple of summers I had the opportunity to work for Quantum Learning Network with their Supercamp programs.  I grew professionally, as I received over 300 hours of training in Quantum learning strategies and presentation skills, and I grew personally.  Here at Timothy, I have the best job ever… okay, so I may be a little bias! J  I teach math and science and am also able to be a coach for the 5th/6th Math Triathlon team.  6th grade is a great year of growth, where together, we learn big and play hard!

Philosophical Profile

I am passionate about teaching and I am passionate about my faith.  My hope is that I will be able to create a radical learning environment in which students will thrive as they discover the power of learning.  I deeply desire to help each of my students understand what it means to walk as Christ’s disciples, living their faith out in everything they do, learning how they can apply their knowledge of the Bible and their Savior in their interactions with the world.  I am looking forward to another fantastic year at Timothy Christian!
