Ms. Beth Boven

Personal Profile:

As a graduate of Timothy Christian Schools, it is exciting to now be a teacher here and be a part of this great community. Timothy is a wonderful place to grow, both academically and spiritually. I strive to provide the same supportive and caring Christian experience that I received as a student.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.  I also enjoy many forms of art, including photography, painting, and drawing.  I love to travel and thankfully have many people in my life who like to travel as well. Recently, I was able to visit my brother and sister-in-law while they were teaching in India.

Professional Profile:

I graduated from Calvin in 2001 with a degree in Business/Communications.  I had a wonderful experience there, including off-campus semesters in Jerusalem and Washington D.C..  But, I didn't really know what I wanted to be when I "grew up."  After graduating from college, I went to work in the business world.  I gained much experience and had many opportunities to try new things.  In my finance position, I trained employees on various software and other programs used throughout the company.  These opportunities fueled my desire to teach.  After working in the business world for many years, I realized that teaching was my passion and true calling in life.  I went back to school to earn my elementary certification and Masters Degree.  I had the wonderful opportunity to spend my student teaching semester at Timothy with Barb Hartgerink and graduated from Aurora University in December 2007.  A few years later, I was thrilled to begin my teaching career at Timothy for the 2010-2011 year.

Philosophical Profile:

It is such a blessing to teach in a place where I can not only be a model of Christ to my students, but also share the gospel and Christ's love with them daily.   I pray every day that I am able to help each child grow and learn; not just the classroom lessons, but grow spiritually and emotionally as well. I want to help them become more like Christ each day.  Every person has at least one teacher that they will never be forget; a teacher that changed his or her life.  I want to be that teacher, no matter if the impact is large or small.  Each child deserves teachers who want the best for them as students and as children. This is what I hope to bring to the classroom and to each student.
