Boys Sophomore Basketball - 2009-2010
Sophomore Boys Post Big Upset
1/29/10
On Friday night in the Timothy gym the sophomore boys played their best game of the season and pulled off a huge upset by beating previously undefeated Riverside Brookfield. The Trojans worked extremely well together on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. The Trojan’s patience on the offensive end of the floor led to good shots on practically every possession as well as noticeably frustrating the top ranked Bulldogs. Offensively the Trojans were led by Chris Ridolphi and Danny Leach with 13 points apiece. Nick Groenewold had his best game of the season, hitting 2 big threes in the fourth quarter and totaling 11 points. Matt Robinson contributed 5 points to go along with 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds. Ryan DeGroot led the Trojans with 6 first half rebounds. The Trojan victory was especially sweet in that it avenged an earlier 27 point loss to the Bulldogs. The win leaves the sophomores with an overall record of 10-9 and MSC record of 4-3. The Trojans have 6 games left in the 2009-2010 season
