Last Year Highlights: The Trojans ended the season playing exciting basketball. Starting the year 3-8, then at Christmas the Trojans went on a run and finished 12-6 to have an overall record of 15-14. The season ended with a double overtime loss in the Regional Championship to PSL rival Walther Lutheran.

Key Losses: Leading scorer and All-Conference forward Kyle Lukianuk will be the only starter that graduated. However, the Trojans will miss the leadership and maturity that Ryan Leach, Steven Ross, Josh Capleton, Dan Woldman, and Tim Ridolphi brought to the court.

Season Outlook: The Trojans strength will be returning four starters from last year’s squad. Senior All- Conference guard Andrew Logan returns with an improved shooting stroke. Junior guard Jaaron Holmes has matured this summer and is looking to have a break out season. Junior Peter Tameling has added 10 pounds of muscle to his body and will be a force both inside and outside. Senior Joel Sytsma at 6’5” gives TC a strong presence inside. Senior Daylan Anderson and Junior Rob White had terrific summers and will give the Trojans depth.

This year’s team will play at a fast tempo using their speed and quickness both on the offensive and defensive sides of the court. The Trojans should be better shooters from the perimeter this year. Defensively TC will apply more pressure than recent teams and will constantly change defensive schemes to keep offenses from getting into a rhythm.

The Trojans weakness this year will be finding team chemistry and leadership. Even though this might be one of Timothy’s quickest teams this summer they struggled against strong physical teams.

PSL Outlook: The PSL will have many outstanding teams with many key players returning to their respective squads. Wheaton Academy who tied for first last year returns All-Conference guard Ben Euler. Chicago Christian who tied Wheaton always has a tough physical team. Walther Lutheran had a great summer and will return all but one starter with junior guard Jeremy James leading the way for the Broncos. Aurora Christian also has many athletic players returning and finished 6-2 last year.
