Steven Denny
I am excited at the prospect of giving back to such a wonderful school which has meant so much to my three children.
Most of my trial work as a lawyer revolves around representing injured victims and a few domestic relations cases. My mediation center handles family law cases and church/clergy disputes.
A Christian since I was eight years old, I am a product of public secondary education in Kentucky and Christian education in undergraduate college. Prior to becoming an attorney I was ordained as a pastor with the Christian Church/Church of Christ and led two congregations in Indiana for ten years. I also taught New Testament Greek at Lincoln Christian College. My doctoral studies at the University of Chicago focused on Hebrew and its cognate languages. My law degree is from John Marshall Law School.
I have been a member of Christ Church of Oak Brook for 20 years and served as an elder for nine. I have regularly been a teacher in the adult classes and served on the executive committee of the elder board. I have also mentored eighth graders in our confirmation program.
I am the (recently) single father of three wonderful teenagers, all of whom are/were at Timothy (Elena in the 8th grade, Jonathan in the 11th grade, and Calvin College sophomore Katrina).
