Fine Arts Program

The Fine Arts Program at Timothy celebrates our God-given creative talents.  Programs and activities are held throughout the year to recognize the arts at Timothy.  Such programs include Octoberfest, Fall Clean-Up and a Fine Arts Week.

Octoberfest is a festive program put on by the student body and many faculty members.  Dressed up in crazy and colorful outfits, the high-schoolers sing and dance to children's songs and oldies tunes.  The night is always a time of celebration and there's never an empty seat!  Octoberfest also includes such activities as the annual Paint Party at which committee members help paint the sets for the program.   See photos from October 2008.

Fall Clean Up is another activity sponsored by the Fine Arts committee.  The committee gathers on a Friday afternoon and helps clean up the school campus by raking and bagging leaves.  The night is always topped off with a fun hot dog roast around the bonfire.

Fine Arts Week, held in the Spring, is the highlight of the year for the committee.  The week is dedicated to the celebration of the arts.  Students' artwork, including ceramics, photography, acrylics, watercolors and drawings are put on display.  The committee also brings in professionals to judge, not only in these areas, but also in dance, vocal performance, drama and instrumental.  Showcases are held each night for the various arts.  The Fine Arts committee also hosts a variety of daytime assemblies featuring performers who represent a wealth of talents.  The whole week is a wonderful time in the life of the school.

There are also many others opportunities during the year for committee members.  In order to keep the program running, each member is expected to help out during the various programs throughout the year.  Rewards for those who have fulfilled those requirements are always a treat.  At Christmas, Fine Arts sponsors an annual trip downtown to go caroling at Union Station followed by a meal in Chinatown.   There is also an annual spring outing to Greek Town and a play at one of the downtown theaters.

The Fine Arts committee is a wonderful program that helps uphold the importance of the arts in the Timothy community.
