Ms. Anna Jensen

Personal Profile
Hi! My name is Anna Jensen. I am the director of the After School Program that was introduced to the Timothy community this fall. I will also be teaching middle school computers and photography. In 2004, I graduated from Timothy Christian High School and never thought I would return so soon as a teacher in the school I once attended. I am just now getting used to calling my former teachers by their first names and teaching my classmates siblings. In May of 2008 I graduated from Trinity Christian College. During my experience at Trinity, I was blessed with the opportunity to work in the After School Program at Southwest Christian School. The time that I spent at Southwest was very rewarding. I was able to reach out to students and assist them with their homework needs while providing a fun and safe atmosphere after school. I have the same hopes that the After School Program will be a blessing to many families at Timothy. I currently live in Lisle, Illinois with my family and am a member at Lombard CRC. In my free time I enjoy reading and playing just about any sports.
Professional Profile
“A teacher’s purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.” This quote by an anonymous individual demonstrates the influence I can have in my students’ lives. I have known since I was very young that I wanted to be a teacher. Growing up I would sit in the basement with my “students” (children in my mom’s in-home daycare) and teach lessons. After graduated from Timothy, I went on to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher at Trinity Christian College. I graduated from Trinity in May of 2008 and received a degree in elementary education, a psychology minor and an endorsement in middle grade social science. I was blessed with great teachers at Timothy who were always caring and able to offer guidance in my walk with Christ. It is such a joy to be able to come back to Timothy and provide my students with the same positive experience that I had while attending Timothy Christian.
Philosophical Profile
I was blessed growing up in a Christian home with amazing Christian parents. My parents always encouraged me to live a life pleasing to God. I was fortunate enough to receive a Christian education which allowed me to have many additional postive Christian leaders in my life. There were so many great Christian people in my life that were always quick to offer advice and guidance about issues that I was struggling with. Growing up in a Christian community has allowed me to be held accountable in my walk with Christ and I know that anytime I am struggling with something to go to God in prayer. I will strive to be a positive role model in the lives of my students. I will also provide them with an education to prepare them to be responsible citizens in society. I hope to be able to assist them in developing their relationship with Christ and help them to discover their individual call from God to impact our World.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5
