2nd & 8th Grades Read Together - December 11, 2009
For the past several years, Timothy has had a sweet Christmas-time tradition. One afternoon in December, the 8th graders are partnered up with a 2nd grader to share a time of reading aloud. The students can bring in their favorite book or there is always a generous supply of titles available. They find a spot at a table, in the hallways or the gymnasium and get comfy with a new friend and a good book.
Afterwards, they gather together in the gym for a time of snacks and fellowship. The 8th graders help their new friends with their treat.. Some groups then return to their reading while others choose to talk or just have fun together. It's a fun way to celebrate the Christmas season!
