ES Field Day - May 24, 2010
If you could use one word to describe this year's grade school Field Day it would be HOT! After soggy fields and the threat of rain postponed the original plan of Friday, it was rescheduled for Monday which was warm and sunny with temps in the low 90's.
The kids all had a wonderful time rotating through the games as they competed in the tug-of-war, obstacle course, sack races and other favorites. Water games such as water balloons and "pass the bucket" were especially popular. Large water dispensers were set by each activity so the kids stayed well hydrated. Mr. V came prepared with his super-soaker and of course, the popsicles helped too.
In the end, the winning team was the Braves, followed by the Rockets and the A's. Despite the unseasonably warm temperature, it can definitely be said it was a "cool" day!
