5th Grade - Halls of History
On Tuesday, February 16, the 5th grade class had a lot of fun showing off their Independent Study projects at “The Halls of History.” The night began with prayer, a few songs, and then let families go on a journey through time as they traveled our hallways.
We learned that one of the best parts about studying history is that it shows God’s faithfulness. By studying events and people from the past, we were able to see how faithful our God is and how his plan for history directly impacts who we are today.
Some of the events that we studied were sad, troubling times filled with hardship. We studied battles, trench war fare, civil rights, and people who endured great suffering. However, we know now that God put those people and events into place because they were a part of his plan for his world. For example, if Rosa Parks had never chosen to take a stand and sit in her seat on that bus, things might not be the same in America. God turned her suffering into strength and help her change our Nation for the better.
On Tuesday night, we praised God for his majesty, for His master plan, and for His faithfulness through ALL generations.
