Homecoming Weekend 2010
"Once Upon A Time," (last Friday) the Timothy Christian Schools Community enjoyed the 2010 Homecoming Weekend.
This year's homecoming weekend featured:
- Homecoming King Reggie Greenwood spending the first hours of his reign to lead the varsity basketball team to a 78-45 victory over conference foe Fenton. Reggie had 10 points, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds to lead a dominating performance.
- Homecoming Queen Julia Pattison wearing the same dress that her grandmother had made for her mother's 1977 prom. Julia also wore a pearl and diamond ring given to her by an elderly member of her church when she was a little girl. Julia's mother and grandmother were very happy to be in attendance to see Queen Julia in this dress.
- The Pom Squad's annual Daddy/Daughter Dance. With an appropriate "love" theme for Valentine's Day weekend, this year, the Dads had two wardrobe changes, and even launched t-shirts into the crowd with water balloon launchers.
- The 2nd-Place-in-State Cheerleading Team's homecoming routine (video here) that they learned in only 4 days and executed to near perfection.
- One of the most exciting JV basketball games in recent Timothy history. In front of a capacity crowd, the back-and-forth Timothy vs. Fenton thriller included two buzzer beaters (one by Timothy freshman Danny Leach) and 2 overtime periods. Unfortunately, the Trojans ultimately lost, but the fans certainly got their money's worth!
- The 2nd annual Timothy Christian Ping Pong Tournament on Saturday morning. 40 "pongers" were in attendance with Dan Roelofs, Tom Griffin, and Trevor Hoogendoorn taking home the hardware in the advanced, recreational, and novice brackets, respectively.
- The Girls Varsity Basketball choreographed dance, featuring coach DeKoekkoek busting some killer moves.
- An Alumni trivia contest won by Alum Steve Van Tholen.
