ES Field Day - May 22, 2009
Field Day 2009 definitely proved to be worth the wait! After being post-poned due to rain from the week before, we were rewarded with a perfect day. After an early lunch, the students headed out at 11:00 am for a day of fun! This year's theme was Survivor Island and the team names included Puka Puka, Jalapoa, Roku and Jacare, just to name a few.
The teams (or tribes!) rotated through different games such as as tug-of-war, the obstacle course and water balloons in 15 minute increments. Popsicles proved to be a popular mid-afternoon snack.
At the end of the day, Dr. H. drove Mrs. Ellefsen, who is retiring at the end of this year, through a tunnel of cheers from all the students.
It's difficult to say who had more fun....staff or students. In the end, it was a awesome day to be outside and no one was voted off the island!
