Grandparents' Day - May 1, 2009
The next Grandparents' Day will take place on:
Friday, April 29, 2011
Watch out website for details, closer to the date.
On Friday, May 1, 2009, Timothy welcomed grandparents and grandfriends from all over the country, Canada, South Korea, Cyprus and even Nigeria for Grandparent’s Day. Grandparents began arriving at Timothy at 8:30 am and were greeted with a gift bag. They gathered in the auditorium for a program, featuring their grandchildren. The students sang, quoted scripture, and shared stories about their grandparents.
After the program, the grandparents were “let loose” in the school to visit their grandchildrens’ classrooms, take a tour of the school, fellowship, meet the teachers, enjoy cookies and coffee and learn all about Timothy Christian Schools.
A complimentary lunch was provided across the street at Faith Christian Reformed Church.
After a wonderful lunch, some of our grandparents returned to Timothy for Reverse Grandparents Day. They had a chance to show our students their hobbies and things that they enjoy doing, such as coin collecting, World War II memorabilia, mission work, playing the harmonica, collecting Nativity scenes and blanket making, just to name a few. The students really enjoyed talking to our guests and learning new skills.
Thanks to everyone who helped make Grandparents Day 2009 so special! We look forward to seeing you again in 2011!
