Apple Pie Day - 2010

Fall is in the air here in Elmhurst, Illinois.  Temperatures are beginning to drop, the palette of colors in the changing leaves is spectacular and the halls of Timothy Christian Schools smell of apples and cinnamon.  This must mean it's Apple Pie Day!

Each year, volunteers from all walks of life...parents, retired teachers, grandparents and friends of Timothy gather in the high school cafeteria for a fun day of fellowship, food and pie making.  This is a well organized operation as apples get peeled, sliced, mixed, deposited into crusts, topped, bagged, boxed and sold.

Coordinator Sharon Hoekstra reports that this year, the crew made 900 pies which translates into approximately a $7,000 profit for our school.  Not bad for a day's work!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered or bought pies....you make a "sweet" team!
