Audiences Agree....CenturyFest One of the Best!

Honoring Timothy's 100th Anniversary, this year's Octoberfest featured songs from the past 10 decades.  The freshman kicked off the show with the annual "Muppet Show" welcome.  The Seniors began the trip down memory lane with the 1910 WWI song "Over There."  The show continued with visits to the Age of Jazz, Sock Hops, the Disco Era, Boy Bands and ended with the music of today. Between each decade, students performed vignettes of songs, skits or dances that were unique to that decade.  These included "Who's on First", "The Hand Jive" and "Can't Touch This."

Faculty members went all out this year with "The Faculty Shuffle", "Good Night Ladies, " and "We are Faculty."  Crowd favorite"The Blues Brothers," featuried the team of Snoeyink & Roelofs, performing"Sweet Home Chicago" with their very own back-up band.

In a great mixture of old and new traditions, the evening ended with "Good Night Irene" but this year, also added bubbles descending upon the audience while the students sang.

Octoberfest is such a uniquely Timothy event and to see students, staff members, alumni, parents and future Octoberfest participants laughing, singing, dancing and celebrating together is a beautiful thing!  The Fine Arts Support Team would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this event.

Also, thanks to all the volunteers who set up and served snacks and to our musicians pianist Gregg DeMey and drummer Tyler Vander Brug.  And, a shout-out to our awesome Tech Crew of Melissa Clark, Stephen Melia, Tommy VanderMolen and Russ Clousing.  Also, mucho gracias to the Fine Art Student Leaders who have worked tirelessly choosing songs, attending rehearsals and putting together a wonderful show!  They are: Jessica Dirkse, Max Jabaay, Hope Zigterman, Grant Zastrow, Bonnie Van Dyk, Amanda Hays, Emily VanStaalduinen, Jimmy Huisman and Chris Szandzik.
