Students Enjoy First Snowfall of the Year

After enjoying a balmy November and December, January ushered in the first significant snowfall in the Chicagoland area.  Students who had just a day before been playing soccer on the grass now had to contend with a good 6-8 inches of the white fluffy stuff on the playground field.  But, they didn't seem to mind!

Students squealed with delight as they hurriedly donned their winter wardrobe consisting of snowpants, mittens, boots, coats and scarves.  They enjoyed making snow angels, taking their turn on the sledding hill, measuring the snow, building snowmen and having a generally good time.

But, all too soon, the recess bell rang and students once again shed their outer layer and returned to their schoolwork..

Kids and snow - they just seem to go together!
