Sophomore Soccer Team Serves at the Joshua Center
Players from the Timothy Christian High School Sophomore Soccer Team took time out from their try-outs last Thursday night to visit, serve dinner, interact with and deliver a gospel message to homeless women temporarily residing at the Joshua Transformation Center in the Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago. The Joshua Center is operated by Breakthrough Urban Ministries, a ministry that provides counseling, shelter, food and compassion to families and individuals in the Garfield and Humboldt Park neighborhoods.
During the gospel message, Sophomore Wes Ditchfield played the part of Jesus when he manually and painfully assumed the penalty of people's sin upon himself. Freshman Christian Bravo commented, "the experience at the Joshua Center showed me that looks can be deceiving, these women were less threatening and more likable than I presumed."
Congratulations to the following Timothy Christian students who completed the try-out process and have been selected as members of the Sophomore Soccer Team, Freshmen: Jonathan Barrera, Greg Biesboer, Christian Bravo, Logan Devries, Caleb Hays, Brett Kwasigroch, Daniel Renn, Jake Smrz, Tyler Vlasak and Andrew Wieringa; and Sophomores: Kyle Brouwer, Jon Cuomo, Riley DeHaan, Wes Ditchfield, Jack Miller, and Gus Psimoulis.
