Chicago Cubs Spirit Day (or Chicago Baseball Fan Day)

With the Cubs advancing to the playoffs, Dr. Hoeksema declared Friday to be Chicago Cubs Spirit Day.  All students in the Elementary and Middle School were encouraged to come to school on Friday wearing any of their Cub gear or at least Cub colors (blue, red, and white). And, in order to accomodate non-Cubs fans, an alterative name for the celebration was "Chicago Baseball Fan Day."

Teachers and students groups entertained the student body during breaks with the songs "Go Cubs Go," "Go Go White Sox" and even a nod to the 2005 Sox World Series Team, "We WERE the Champions."

Even though the event didn't spur the Cubs on to victory, a fun time was had by all.
