Patriot's Pen Essay Contest
On February 2, the winners of the Patriot's Pen contest were hosted by the Veterans of Foreign War. The National Patriot’s Pen Program is an essay contest conducted nationwide by VFW Posts and Auxiliaries. This contest gives students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades the opportunity to express their opinion on an announced theme and improve their writing skills, while they compete for worthwhile awards and prizes. The VFW received almost 1300 essay's written on "Why I am an American Patriot". Sixty one students were chosen and treated to a wonderful honors banquet.

Early in March, several of Timothy's High School students were also recognized for their essays in the VFW contest, on a different topic. Timothy finished in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Congratulations to students Rachel Groters, Sabrina Lee and Dan Denby!
