Goals of the Preschool Program
We offer hands-on activities appropriate to each child’s developmental levels to develop:
knowledge and love of God and a caring concern for His Creation
independence and a positive self concept
creativity, curiosity, sense of responsibility, and thinking skills.
The following subject areas integrated around weekly themes and in long term projects develop:
ART: skills, self expression, creativity, problem solving
BIBLE: love for God, ability to pray and praise, knowledge of Bible stories HEALTH: positive habits
LANGUAGE: desire to read, ability to understand stories, others and to be understood; awareness of sounds in words
MATH: skills- sorting, comparing, ordering, and solving problems; interest in number and quantity; ability to recognize and create patterns
SCIENCE: knowledge, appreciation, concern, and wonder about God’s world; skill observing, comparing, sorting, and describing objects and changes using five senses; problem solving
SOCIAL STUDIES: understanding that we are special, made by God; love and respect for God and others; beginning understanding of rules; beginning understanding of feelings of others; beginning ability to cooperate, share, and negotiate
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: physical fitness and skills, “willing to try” attitude
