Personal Profile
I am extremely excited to be teaching at Timothy Christian. Timothy was a rival for a good portion of my life; I attended Southwest Christian Elementary and Chicago Christian High School. I am blessed to have known the significance of Christian education as a child.
Professional Profile
I graduated from Hope College in the spring of 2007. I have a degree in Elementary Education and a Language Arts composite for grades six-eight. While at Hope I spent a good portion of my time working in the admissions office, giving tours to new students and families, as well as tutoring children from local school districts. A highlight from my time at Hope was the opportunity to study abroad in Australia for 8 months, taking unique literature courses and studying the aborigines. I also had the pleasure of experiencing how schools work down under! The summer after I graduated from Hope I moved to Phoenix, AZ to teach second grade at a Title I school. I taught in Arizona for two year before God called me back to the Chicago land area to teach at Timothy. I’m excited to see God’s hand in my life as I begin my journey teaching first grade.
Philosophical Profile
I feel immensely blessed to have the opportunity to work with parents in educating their children in a Christian environment. I strive to show Christ likeness to my students and help them develop not only spiritually, but emotionally and physically in Christ’s image. Each child is given unique gifts and talents from God and I have the privilege to see those gifts and talents shine through each and every day!
