THE TIMOTHY WISH LIST http://www.timothychristian.com/needs.php
Over Christmas vacation a Timothy family funded one of our wish list items: the purchase of hymnals for the elementary/middle school music program! A new item on the list as of today: surplus Frequent Flyer Miles for travel to professional conferences and seminars for teachers and administrators.
MIDDLE SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY BEE
The Middle School Geo Bee took place the afternoon of December 18, 2007 in the Huizenga Auditorium. Fourteen students qualified for this event by having a high score on a pre-written test that was given to the entire Middle School. They were later joined by the winner and runner-up in the Elementary Bee as they competed for the title of champion.
Tough questions and tough competition made this year's Bee an interesting one! Like the ES Bee, students were eliminated after missing two questions. One particularly difficult round took out 5 competitors, leaving five left to battle it out. One student qualified for the finals while the other four went several rounds until it narrowed down to the final two. Again, several rounds of "tie-breakers" took place until 7th grader Peter Carlson was declared champion and 7th grader Andrew Groenewold Runner Up! Photos of this event can be seen on our website.
Peter wins a $500 Scholarship to be applied to next year's tuition, as well as a chance to take a test which could earn him a spot in the National Geo Bee in Washington D.C. . Congratulations to all the competitors!

Each SMARTBoard costs $5,000.

FOR PRAYER
Over Christmas Break several of our staff members experienced the death of a parent. We ask that you please remember in your prayers those who are grieving the loss of a loved one: Jim and Barb Hartgerink in the death of Barb’s Mom, Deb Lanenga in the death of her father, Ellen Dec in the death of her father and Cindy Wagle in the death of her mother. May God comfort these families with His perfect peace.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table and she didn't miss them until they had been driving about twenty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around, in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses.
All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute.
To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. As the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her, "While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and the credit card."
