MARKET DAY

We have an opportunity to earn some wonderful books for our TC library this month.  We need to increase our October 2006 sales by 10% and our customers by 10.  Our goal has been set at $6,108.66 and 111 customers.  We can do it!!  Last month we had 67 orders, totaling $4,524 which translates to a profit of $452.  Place an order yourself, ask a friend or neighbor to place an order using TC's account.  Every little bit helps to reach our October 2007 goal and earn those Scholastic books! October's Market Day Pick-Up date is October 12, 3:30-4:30 pm in the ES/MS Mini-Gym.  Orders can be placed by Internet or phone before Noon on Tuesday, October 9 or by turning in your order sheet to the ES office by the end of the day on Monday, October 8.  If you have any questions, please call Barb Cimmarusti at (630) 530-2996.

NOT FOR SALE CAMPAIGN

Timothy is sponsoring a major event in a new Abolitionist Movement on Sunday, November 11 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Huizenga Auditorium. Human trafficking is rapidly becoming one of the greatest moral battles of our time. The Not For Sale Campaign is doing something about it, and we can too.

27 million people are enslaved today—and some of them live right next door to us, here in the United States. Not For Sale is a campaign of individuals, musicians, artists, people of faith, businesses, schools and sports teams united to stop it. The event at Timothy will feature speaking, film, music, and action-oriented content. The Not For Sale team provides first hand accounts of the Abolitionist Movement—both domestic and abroad. Check out more at www.notforsalecampaign.org and plan to attend this event. Bring your church!

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE

After Mr. and Mrs. Fenton retired, Mrs. Fenton insisted her husband accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, Mr. Fenton found shopping boring. Equally unfortunately, Mrs. Fenton loved to browse.

One day Mrs. Fenton received the following letter from her local Wal-Mart:

Dear Mrs. Fenton,

Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and may be forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Fenton are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras.

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of Polident and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, "Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away."

4. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.

5. September 14: Moved a "CAUTION - WET FLOOR" sign to a carpeted area.

6. September 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.

7. September 23: When a clerk asked if she could help him, he began crying and screamed, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"

8. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme.

9. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

And last, but not least:

10. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed, "OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!"
