Mr. Jason Van den Brink, Business Manager
Personal Profile:
I grew up in Orland Park Illinois. My parents are Gus and Jayne van den Brink and I have two younger sisters, Emily and Jillayne. While attending high school at Chicago Christian I met Kate Carpenter. We dated while attending separate colleges (her at Trinity Christian and I at Calvin) and were married in June of 2007. I have played soccer all of my life and have recently become a cycling enthusiast.
Professional Profile:
I graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor in Science of Public Accountancy in 2007. I began my professional career at Capin Crouse, a respected national public accounting firm that specializes in auditing religious non-profit organizations. I worked with clients that include Calvin College, Judson College, and Westminster Christian School.
After gaining valuable experience in the field of non-profit accounting I left Capin Crouse to work at Trinity Christian College as the Assistant Controller. I worked at Trinity for three years and continued up a steep learning curve as the business and finance functions a Trinity went through some big changes while I was there.
While at Trinity I passed the final sections of the CPA exam and became a Registered Certified Public Accountant in September of 2009. I am also in the process of completing my Masters of Science in Non-Profit Management at Spertus College. I began that program in May of 2010 and expect to graduate in June 2012.
Philosophical Profile:
I believe that Christian Education is a critical part of how we live out our faith in a Reformed tradition. Educating young people with both excellent academic standards and the mindset that we are learning how to go out and renew God’s world is very important. I am also very excited that Timothy is a community of students from a wide group of Christian traditions who have all come together and value Reformed Christian Education
