Ms. Jen Walsh
Personal Profile
First of all, I am blessed to be teacher here at Timothy Christian. This year I will be teaching 4th grade in Room 303J. I am originally from Gaylord, Michigan. I grew up in a big white farmhouse with apple trees blossoming along the side, and an old worn-down barn in the back. As a child, I was privileged and blessed to grow up in a small Northern Michigan town with a loving Christian family. I am very athletic and I love to travel and experience different cultures. I truly appreciate all four seasons and have favorite activities in each one including boating, skiing, playing tennis, reading, hiking, etc.
Professional Profile
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Taylor University, Indiana, in 2007. I also had a vast amount of interest in Intercultural Studies. After graduating, I taught 3rd grade for two years at the International School of Tegucigalpa, in Honduras, Central America. IST is a bilingual Christian school and my classroom consisted of Honduran English Language Learners. After returning back to the States, I taught a year in Michigan, 1st-5th grade Title I reading support in a public school setting, and then came to teach at Timothy Christian Schools in 2010.
Philosophical Profile
My philosophy of education is to educate the whole child (mind, body, and spirit). Every child deserves the right to be educated in a safe learning environment with high academic standards. But sadly, this is not a reality for most children around the world. As a facilitator and role model, I inspire students to discover new concepts and knowledge within a biblical worldview along with fostering positive character development. I believe that the students in my classroom do and will make a difference in our world of need. Timothy’s mission is to “develop academically prepared Christian disciples who embrace Christ’s call to transform the world” and I am just another link in this community of educators in the development of this mission for each child. Along with strong academics, I guide my students in the understanding of who they are in Christ, so that they know of His great LOVE and can be a blessing to others!

not a puddle drying in the sun." – Bruce Wilkinson
