Dear Parents,
This school year is coming to an end, but new and exciting things are still happening at Timothy. The After School Program will be starting this fall and I am honored to be the director of this new venture! I have recently graduated from Trinity Christian College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Over the past four years I have been working with the students at Southwest Christian School in their after school program.
Being a graduate of Timothy Christian School, I am very excited to be able to return and launch this new program. We are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for the students from 3:15 to 6pm each day. In the after school program, students will not only get assistance with homework needs, but will participate in organized activities including group games, arts and crafts, science experiments, and much more.
So that we can adequately prepare for our staffing needs, I would ask that you return the enclosed registration as soon as possible. The official deadline is August 1 when the registration fee and first payment is due. P.S. Have any toys or games that you no longer use? The after school program would love any gently used toys (legos, blocks, puzzles, books, games, etc). If you have anything you would like to donate, you can drop them off in the elementary office. Thanks!
5.07.08- After School Program Director Hired
The Timothy administration and school board are pleased to announce the hire of Anna Jensen as the new Timothy After School Program director.
A Timothy alumna and Trinity Christian College graduate, Miss Jensen has over 4 years of experience working as an After School Care teacher. We look forward to her development of the Timothy After School Program.
The After School Program is much more than merely a “child-care” program. It will allow for snack, study time, free time, and organized group activities. This program will be active on all 176 school days in the 2008-2009 school year.
This program will represent a significant shift in the way that elementary students are active on Timothy’s campus after school. In the name of providing the best care and programming possible for our children, as well as fulfilling liability requirements, all Timothy elementary students present on our campus between 3:15 and 6:00 (and not involved in extra curricular activities) will be under the supervision of this program.
In a survey sent out earlier this school year, 49 Timothy families (many of whom use similar services at other organizations) expressed interest in this program. There are also several new families that are joining the Timothy community, in part, because this program will exist next school year. We are excited about being able to provide this needed service to current and future Timothy families.
Miss Jensen will be busy shaping the program policies and practices in the coming weeks. The initial information on this program, including pricing and scheduling will be available on the Timothy website on Monday, May 19th.
