Mr. Troy Blunier

Personal Profile

Hi, my name is Troy Blunier. I teach Technology Education at Timothy Christian High School. I became a Christian shortly after high school which is one reason why I decided to change my life’s work from engineering to teaching. I am originally from central Illinois, near Bloomington/Normal, where I grew up on the family farm. In the spring of 2010, I married my lovely wife, Carrie. We attend the Apostolic Christian Church in Hillside, ILĀ

Professional Profile

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2005 and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Secondary Education with a major in Technology Education. I joined the Timothy Staff in the 06-07 school. In the summer of 2010 I finished my master’s degree, also in Technology Education, at Illinois State. My goal for the technology department is to incorporate more math and science content into the curriculum using an engineering design approach to teaching.

Philosophical Profile

My philosophy for education is that as Christians we need to educate our students, our children, to be prepared to be ministers to the world. That is both in their word and in the walk of life. Therefore we as educators need to model for them the correct attributes of a Christian. Stressing values like honesty, integrity, purity, faith, and above all those, love. We need to show them how to express these attributes toward their elders and parents, peers, friends, even their enemies and opponents. On top of this foundation should come the ideas, information, and content that are essential to life in this day and time.
