Mr. Matt Davidson, Superintendent
Personal Profile
I met my wife, Julie, in the 2nd grade at a Christian school. We have been married since the summer of 1993, and today we have three children: Luke, Macy and Joey. By God’s grace, our family is courageously committed to making a difference for Jesus Christ. We believe the Christian life is abundant…rewarding…an adventure!
In regard to hobbies, I enjoy spending time with my family as much as anything else. Due to the fast-paced nature of my work, I am very content to just stay at home whenever possible. However, my wife and kids can easily convince me to get out and do things together as a family. Family vacations have been incredibly important and memorable to me. I also enjoy golfing, coaching, reading and exercise. Team building and leadership development are important hobbies of mine as well. Lastly, I have always been very plugged in at the local church, and I serve on various Boards and committees.
Professional Profile
I attended Aurora Christian School in Aurora, IL for grades 1-12. I received my BA in History Secondary Education from Trinity College in Deerfield, IL (now Trinity International University) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. Although I worked over the summer throughout junior high and high school (farming, backhoe service digging septic fields, construction), my first job out of college as a professional was teaching at Aurora Christian School. Over the years, I have taught Bible, US History, World History, Government, Economics, Physical Education, Agricultural Studies, and African American History. I have also served as a coach, Assistant Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Principal (grades 6-12) at Aurora Christian School. Most recently, I served as Superintendent at Northwest Christian Schools in Phoenix and Peoria, AZ. Northwest Christian Schools is the 12th largest Christian school in ACSI North America. Following an amazing adventure at Northwest Christian Schools, God has called our family here…to Timothy Christian Schools, where I currently serve as Superintendent.
Philosophical Profile
The best schools are learning environments…for everyone, not only the students. The best schools are full of life-long learners with a compelling commitment to excellence and distinction, or in other words—a dedication to be the best. The motivation in the Christian school for success and achievement is not to receive worldly attention, but rather to give God the glory in all things (Matthew 5:16; Colossians 3:23.) In the best Christian schools, there is consideration for the minor things, but conviction for the main thing—which is to give Jesus Christ the highest place in every program of the school. The Christian school must work tirelessly with the home and the church to train, equip and inspire this generation of young people to be “winners” and to make a difference for Jesus Christ in their circle of friends, their school, their church, their family, their community, their country and even the world. By the grace of God, we will prepare our students to dream big and to be bold leaders for Christ in all of their future endeavors.
