The annual festival began kicked off on Monday, February 29th with Steven Klaus, Director of Bands at Ridgewood High School critiquing our instrumentalists (band).  Thursday evening, March 3rd brought the piano critique for the high school and middle school pianists with Raluca Bojor and Serenity Fung respectively critiquing our students.

Week 2 held special honors for our HS Orchestra students who were judged by Joanna May, Orchestra Director at Elmhurst College.  From Classica Guitar music, harpists and string quartets, the Orchestra room was buzzing with beautiful music.

Week 3 was the most eventful starting on Monday March 14 with Choir Festival Day.  Dr. Robert Sinclair worked with all choirs from 6th grade through high school and gave students valuable feedback and evaluation.  Tuesday, the 15th, Michael VanderAa shared his knowledge of photography with over 20 students discussing the many technical aspects of capturing images.  On the 16th, we welcomed Veronica Popp and Elisabeth Start from Elmhurst College who led our Poetry & Prose Workshop.  We also welcomed TCHS alum Janet Gorman Warner Kruse, Class of 1985.  She is a professional country line dancer and led our students in country line dance workshops all morning.  The week ended with our vocalists singing for Nick Falco, tenor with the Chicago Symphony Chorus, is head of the a cappella vocal jazz group An Octave Above and teaches voice privately in high schools in Township High School District 214.

This week, we welcome Rachel Hoogstra on Tuesday who will critique our Art students and the following groups who will perform for our students each day this week:  Kaotic Drumline, Wheaton College Men’s Glee Club Thundertones, the Jesse White Tumblers and the BEST of TC which will showcase our many winners.
