Bible Journaling

Do you enjoy being creative and connecting to God’s Word? Then this club is for you! Come each week to study scripture and create art in your own journaling Bible.

Who: 3rd – 6th graders – Maximum 20 Students
When: Wednesday afternoons from 3:10-4:15 PM, February 1, 8, 15, 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22
Where: Mrs. Boerema’s classroom (Room 402)
Cost: $80.00 (includes cost of a new journaling bible)

Chess Club

Chess Club is at full capacity for the 2017-2018 year.
Please contact Mr. Groenewold at groenewoldb@timothychristian.com if you wish to be put on a waiting list.

We will begin our meetings with prayer, followed by a mini-lesson.  After that, students will have the opportunity to play games of chess against other students in the club and spend some time on an individualized chess program.  More information about the program will go home within the first couple weeks of Chess Club.

We are planning on meeting on the following Thursdays:

October- 5,12
November- 2, 9, 16
December- 7, 14
January- 4, 11, 18, 25
February- 1, 8, 15, 22
March- 1, 8, 15, 22

Chess club will cost $40 this year.  Please make your payments at the office.

Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to take part in some chess tournaments.  Tournaments are completely optional.  Two of our tournaments are scheduled for November 18 and February 3.  We will announce more information about them at chess club as well as email them out.  If you have any other questions regarding chess club, please feel free to contact Brad at groenewoldB@timothychristian.com or Kevin at ksmith6353@gmail.com .

Gaming fun and good fellowship with each other!  We play computer games, Wii, Xbox, and a classic arcade game console.

Reading Club, Middle School

This club (grades 6-8) will be meeting on Thursday in the Advanced Learner’s Room to discuss this month’s book “I Will Always Write Back” by Martin Ganda. Books are available for pick up in the ADL room.

Robotics, Elementary School

Students will work in teams to design and build a robot and compete in local team tournaments.  VEX IQ offers a robot building experience with snap together pieces to enhance students’ knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at an age-appropriate level. Students will gain skills in teamwork, leadership and problem solving.
