SEEKING WISDOM: DELIGHTING IN GOD’S CREATION

Without wisdom, intelligence is useless. It’s the most important thing to seek as a disciple. You want your children to be in the world, but not of it—made different in Jesus Christ to make a difference in the world. A Timothy education delights in God’s creation while refusing to shelter or isolate its students from the world. At Timothy, we foster a climate of honesty, love, security, and wisdom to empower learning, stimulate critical thinking, and free our students to open their minds in the midst of an often confusing, always changing, rapid-fire world.

The portion of your child’s education that belongs to us—academics—is something we do well. Parents and churches notice this and tell us. So has U.S. News & World Report, selecting us as one of the Outstanding High Schools in the United States.

A high standard for excellence is part of our recipe for success. Timothy Christian High School is fully accredited by the North Central Association through AdvanceEd and is recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education. Our highly qualified and certified teachers stay ahead of the technology curve and participate in regular professional development programs. But it is the way our staff focuses on your child that makes a Timothy education so compelling and essential.

Arts

Nurturing Creativity

The music, art, and theater departments at Timothy are vibrant and include a  large portion of the student body. Students are taught to strive for artistic and musical excellences, while learning to develop discipline, perseverance, and a life-long appreciations for the arts. Students graduate as well-rounded citizens of culture, our community and the world.

Art and music are a window that allow us to see our Creator more clearly as we step into culture and influence culture with our praise and personal forms of expression.

Athletics

Champions for Christ

Athletic competition presents challenges similar to those that everyone faces in life. Learning to overcome and the lessons learned through perseverance build character. The Timothy athletic program is dedicated to developing Christ-like character and leadership through sports. We work together in oneness, conquer fears, overcome obstacles, and look for lessons and motivation in loss and humility in victory.

Timothy’s state-of-the-art strength and conditioning performance center — along with professional, sport-specific training — creates advantages for our student athletes to compete and achieve. Timothy develops champions in the athletic arena, but more importantly champions for Christ.

  • Internships: Juniors and seniors can arrange for an unpaid internship in a work area of interest.
  • Onsite Electives: Students will have the opportunity to attend unique courses not normally found in the high school curriculum, often with multiple off-campus field trips and experiences.
  • Trips: Students can embark on a discipleship or mission trip.  Renew trips are include both domestic and international options.

Extracurricular

Clubs & Student Life

Timothy Christian High School’s student life exists to enrich the personal, social and academic lives of our students. Our social activities, service opportunities, and an array of clubs, help supplement a student’s emotional and academic development. These provide lifelong learning experiences, leadership opportunities and friendships.  We believe they also give students a greater opportunity to develop their interests, talents and abilities beyond the classroom structure. These activities provide widespread participation by the entire student body, helps cultivate school spirit and pride, and gives our students a sense of belonging and community.
