K-6 Music Program
Students will learn that music is an integral part of creation, and it speaks to each one uniquely and beautifully. They will learn that music enriches and deepens faith and is in the curriculum for discovery, use, and praise. They will be made aware of how music influences them, how it makes them feel, what it makes them want to do, how it touches their spirit. They will learn that there are many different ways to participate in and enjoy music.
They will listen to it, sing it, read it, move to it, play it, create it, and interpret it. Historical perspective will be provided, the imagination will be enlarged and exercised, and each student will be engaged in as thorough a discipline as he is capable of. Music is God’s gift to us as well as our gift to him. It is a way for us to express our thoughts, our beliefs, our feelings, and our praise.
