This was a very busy week for the Lady Trojans, 3 conference games and 1 non conference to end the week. The girls responded well and went 4-0 for the week, improving their record to 7-4 and 4-2 in the conference.

Monday we were on the road at Guerin Prep. Using our inside game we controlled the game from start to finish. Hannah Schuringa lead the scoring with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Sureya Alex added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Olivia Schuringa had 9 points and 9 rebounds. Lauren Gehrke added 8 points.

Another road trip took us to Elmwood park on Tuesday. Great teamwork and aggressive play lead to a 71-29 victory. Jordyn Strube lead the scoring with 18 points, Hannah Schuringa put in 12 and 8 rebounds, Sureya Alex had 11 points and 4 assists. The girls continue to all contribute and put up nice points and great team work.

Thursday saw a scrappy Ridgewood come to the WAC. The girls knew they would be disciplined on defense but that we could take advantage with our height. A tight first half which saw TC struggling with turn overs and not finishing some good moves, had us with only a 4 point lead going into half time. The girls came out strong in the 3rd, going inside and out to take advantage and win the quarter 21-2. Olivia Schuringa lead the scoring with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Sureya Alex added 13, Heidi Westra had 8 points, 7 assist 6 steals and 5 rebounds and Hannah Schuringa put in 8 points and 8 rebounds. This conference win moves the girls to 4-2.

The last game of the week had the Lady Trojans facing a non conference opponent Westmont. A very slow start, saw the Trojans up only 4 at half time. A big change in game plan lead to a great second half were we held Westmont to only 8 points the entire second half. A good full court press, man to man defense lead to a a big change in the game and opportunities to score against a couple strong and aggressive girls. TC won the second half 28-8. Hannah lead in scoring and rebounding with 13 points and 11 boards. 4 girls added 6 points, Jordyn, Sureya, Lauren and Olivia. Good win going into finals next week and full week off before out next big conference game against undefeated Walther Christian. Rest will be key before taking on Walther Saturday, December 16, at the WAC, 7:00. Hope to see you all there to support our Lady Trojans!
