Timothy Scholastic Bowl Team Takes Regional Championship
On Monday, March 8th, Timothy hosted an IHSA scholastic bowl regional competition. At the end of the night, it was the hosts holding the Regional Championship plaque.
As the number three seed in the Dwight sectional Timothy defeated Wilmington 259-108 in the quarterfinal, Coal City 210-102 in the semifinal, and number six seed Peotone 193-101 for the championship.
Team captain Peter Matthews led the team with 13 tossups with key contributions from Ben Zigterman, Justin Barak, and Steven Barre. Timothy will face Lisle, Latin, and Dwight in the Sectional round-robin tournament Saturday, March 13th at Dwight. The same four teams squared off last year for the Sectional championship, with Latin coming out on top.
