Timothy Hires Matt Davidson as Next Superintendent

The Timothy Christian Schools Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hire of Mr. Matt Davidson as the next Superintendent of Timothy Christian Schools.

In the 2008-2009 school year, the Board of Directors created a special sub-committee to focus specifically on the leadership transition that would occur after Mr. Van Prooyen's retirement in the summer of 2010. This committee's nation-wide search of candidates ultimately zeroed in on Mr. Davidson as Timothy's leader of the future.

This search called for a "Visionary leader who will be able to collaboratively work with all community constituencies and develop consensus around a picture of Timothy’s future, then effectively cast this vision and inspire the community as it makes this vision a reality."  Today, the Board of Directors is pleased to report that we have the man for this mission.

Personal and Professional Bio:

  • Matt and his wife Julie met in 2nd grade at Aurora Christian
  • Matt and Julie have 3 children: Luke (grade 9), Macy (grade 7), and Joey (grade 5)
  • Originally a teacher, Matt has taught US History, World History, Economics, Government, and Bible
  • Other previous positions held include: Assistant Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Principal
  • Matt is currently Superintendent of Northwest Christian School- the largest private school in Arizona (Pre-K through 12; 2 campuses; nearly 1,325 students; 200 churches represented at the school)

A Welcome Message:

As I write this short message, it is 72°F today in Phoenix while Chicago is reporting 14°F.  Even so, my family is enthusiastic about joining the team at Timothy Christian School!

I am a strong advocate for Christian schools, and I look forward to serving the greater Timothy Christian community.  Undoubtedly much has changed in the nearly 100 year history of Timothy Christian School, but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 12:8).

Please be assured that Timothy Christian School will most certainly maintain its enduring commitment to train, equip and inspire difference-makers for Jesus Christ. It is my conviction that this mission is always best achieved when the Christian school recognizes the importance of partnering with the home and the church, thus forming an authentic partnership with parents.  Because that is what I believe, I look forward to meeting you and quickly becoming immersed in the family of Timothy Christian School.

Very Truly Yours for Christian Education,

Matt Davidson
