New Wheaton Express Bus Helps Current, Future Timothy Families

8.15.06

This year there will be a lot less waiting for Wheaton-area Timothy families.

In an attempt to better serve current Timothy families, as well as attract new families from the Wheaton Area, we are excited to announce our new Wheaton Express Bus Run.

In previous years, students from the Wheaton and Glen Ellyn areas rode the bus that frequently took over one hour simply to get to school.  The same bus also took over an hour after school.  Timothy families from this area were in the difficult situation of wanting to keep their families at Timothy, but having to put their students on a bus for over 2 hours per day in some cases.

Enter the Express Bus Run.  We've consolidated all of the Wheaton stops into this one-stop route. The stop is at Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church.  Found at 1401 S. Naperville Road in Wheaton, this centrally located church has graciously allowed Timothy Christian Schools the use of their facility for the Express Run.  With the advantage of a close proximity to Roosevelt Road, this route will take an estimated 22 minutes to get to Timothy.  Parents drive their children to Bethel before 7:40 a.m., and they go directly to Timothy on the Express Bus.  In the afternoon, they come back from school directly to the same stop by 3:35.

For high school students who wish to drive to the bus stop, Bethel Presbyterian Church also agreed to give Timothy families access to their parking lot.  High school students can drive to the bus stop and park their car in the north end of the church parking lot.  After school, the students ride the express bus back to the bus stop, get in their car and drive home.

If this sounds like a good idea for you, or someone you know, please feel free to contact us.
