Personal Profile
I have been involved in Christian education since my parents put a frightened eight year old on the bus for the ride to North Haledon, New Jersey where one of Eastern Christian Schools’ elementary buildings was located. When I began to attend the Christian school I knew Jesus loved me and I that I loved him. My Christian education took that knowledge and gave it depth and purpose. I learned that all of life is rooted in your faith and that Christians are coworkers with Christ in redeeming His creation.
Professional Profile
I received my BA from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, MI in English and my MA from Concordia University, River Forest, IL in Early Childhood Education.
Philosophical Profile
As a teacher of young children I know that they are not yet ready to understand the doctrinal underpinnings of the reformed faith, but I can teach them that this is God’s world and He sent His son for His children. From there they will go on to learn how to live and work in God’s world in the way they should. As a teacher at Timothy for 25 years I have become a part of God’s family that makes known to its children and its children’s children the story of salvation.
