SmartBoard Momentum Builds:
Adopt A Smartboard Program Begins (10.22.07)
Over the CEA convention break wiring preparations were made for the installation of an additional 20 SMARTBoards on campus. This latest installation will bring the campus total to 35, with this amazing technology spreading to grades 6-8 (11 units) and additional high school classrooms (9 units). The first round brought 12 SMARTBoards to grades 2-5 and 3 to the high school.
The very good news is that parents—impressed by what they see from teachers and hear from their students—are offering to “adopt” a SMARTBoard or two for the school. While the first round was financed by gifts from Partners in Education and private donations, we’re still looking for donors for the second round.
Today we received the good news that a parent couple wishes to adopt “at least two” SMARTBoards. If you’d like to help with this cause with gifts small or large, contact Dave Larsen at (630) 782-4072 for the details.
Smart Boards at Timothy Christian Schools (8.27.07)
Smart Boards have arrived at Timothy Christian Schools. Smart Boards are a cutting edge educational tool that synchronizes board, computer, and projector to create a touch-sensitive interactive digital screen.
The 2007-2008 school year began with a little extra excitement in 15 of Timothy's classrooms, as 15 Smart Boards were installed on campus. The interactive, touch sensitive "electronic chalkboards" were installed in all 12 classrooms in grades 2-5, and in all 3 math classrooms in the high school.
Students and teachers alike have been energized by the awesome applications that come with each board. The educational possibilities for these units seem to be endless.
