10/11/09 - Frosh/Soph Tennis Team Takes 1st at MSC Tourney
Despite chilly conditions, the Frosh-Sophomore Tennis Team took 1st place at the MSC Conference Tournament on Saturday. This was a remarkable team effort since the team received zero points at 4th Doubles and still beat the second place team by 1 point! Congratulations to the girls and Coach Bob Almada! Individual conference winners include:

The 2009 Timothy Christian Girls Tennis Team is one of strongest teams in recent years. The team is paced by the first doubles tandem of Janna Strodtman and Stephanie Hoekstra who have a combined record of 16-2 and 6-0 in the Mid-Suburban Conference. They took first place in the recent 8 team Elk Grove Invite. Complimenting them on the singles side are Lauren Troxel and Ava Jokich. Lauren has a 15-7 record at mostly 1st singles and Ava is 16-6 overall and 6-0 at 2nd singles in conference. All four are seniors and bring a lot of experience and leadership to the team. Juniors Maggie Larkin and Renata Harris have fared well in their first yr. of varsity tennis. They have played second doubles with Maggie at 16-5 and Renata with record of 13-4. The duo took 2nd place at both the Distrcit 88 and Elk Grove Invites. The varsity team has an 18 player roster and several girls have stepped into different line-up slots and contributed. Senior Alexa Devries at 10-4 and junior Andrea Van Solkema at 9-7 lead the group in the win column.
