2007-2008 School Theme: This is My Father's World
At Timothy Christian Schools, we are particularly excited about our theme for the 2007-2008 school year, This is My Father's World. God has called us to be stewards and caretakers of His magnificent creation, and we're excited to see where that call leads our students. K-8 students have already committed Pslam 8 to memory as we are using it for our official theme passage for the year.
We are also enjoying our theme song, "From the Mouths of Your Children," (video above) an original piece written and sung by our very own 5th grade teacher, Mr. Vander Naald. Mr. V. did a wonderful job of capturing the central themes of Psalm 8 in an extremely creative music video and song that we have used to begin our worship time.
In our desire to have this theme impact us throughout the year, we challenged each grade level to identify an activity that they could be involved with that would represent their response to our mandate to care for "our Father's world." Teachers have begun discussing the possibilities for service or stewardship with their students, and in a future chapel, we will be sharing our "restoration activities" with each other.
In addition, we are planning a variety of events and activities for the entire school that will keep us focused on our theme. We plan to conclude the year with a time of worship where we can share our experiences with stories, pictures, and video as a means to encourage us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a broken world.
