Timothy Christian High School’s DECA chapter participated in Regional Competition in Rosemont on Friday, Jan. 26. There were about 1000 students competing from the Western Suburbs.
The students competed in a variety of areas. Each area required that the student take an economics test, a marketing test, and perform two role-play scenarios. The scenarios the student receives the day of competition and have a short amount of time to prepare before presenting to the judge.
The students participated in the following events:

Retail Merchandising: Christina Zhuang
Entrepreneurship Individual: Cynthia Gao
Entrepreneurship Team: Trent Marrera & Maddie Schaafsma, Joel Daniels & Scott Schnurr, Annika Anderson & Riley Slovey
Trent Marrera and Maddie Schaafsma placed 3rd in Entrepreneurship Management Team Decision Making Event. In addition to the competition yesterday, 6 students prepared written events that are State qualifiers.

These 6 students are headed to DECA State Competition on Feb. 22-24 where they will compete for an opportunity to qualify for National Competition.
