Mrs. Cheryl Voss
Personal Profile
My name is Cheryl Voss and I am responsible for the Middle School Discovery Center. My husband, Don, and I are the parents of four children and with the graduation of our youngest from Timothy Christian High School last spring we are beginning our first year of “empty nesting.” We will also be celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary this spring. I enjoy reading and spending time with family.
Professional Profile
I am a Timothy graduate, attended Calvin College for two years, and continued my education at Trinity International University where I received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. After graduation I taught second grade at Timothy for three years. Throughout the following years I have had a variety of teaching opportunities and experiences that have prepared me for my present position. I am currently part of Elim Christian Services Discovery Center Network and a member of the Illinois Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Both organizations provide excellent, ongoing education and support in the field of special education.
Philosophical Profile
I believe the goal of Christian education is to show students how God and His truths relate to and are reflected in all fields of learning. As a result of this kind of purposeful instruction teachers at Timothy have the opportunity as well as the responsibility to develop our students’ understanding of God and to challenge them to integrate Christ’s teachings into every part of their lives as they continue to be transformed into His image and reflect His character. Teaching at Timothy provides me an opportunity to share God’s principles with students both in and out of the classroom.
