Personal Profile

As of September, 2008 my wife Lisa and I are empty nesters.  We have been blessed to have all three of our children graduate from Timothy.  Our oldest daughter, Katie, and her husband, Chris, live in Villa Park   Our second daughter, Jenny, and her husband, Tyler, live in Chicago.  Our son Mark is a student at Calvin College.  My hobby is running.  Lisa and I are enjoying immensely being the grandparents of Katie and Chris's daughter, Brooklyn. born July 2, 2009!

Professional Profile 

I graduated from Calvin College in 1981.  I taught in Fulton, Illinois for four years prior to coming to Timothy.  In 1987 I earned a master’s degree from National Louis University.  I coached golf and softball until 1993.  Since 1993 I have coached cross country and sophomore boys basketball.  Winning the 2001 State Championship in girls cross country was both a professional and personal highlight.  I have also enjoyed teaching during the summer at Northwestern University since 1999.

Philosophical Profile

I am a Calvinist through and through.  “The earth is the Lord’s and all that dwell therein.”  It is my call as a Christian educator to help prepare young people to become academically prepared Christian disciples.  Disciples of Christ who can and will chose to make a positive and eternal difference in our world.
