We don’t hold students back. Our approach includes:

• Our student–teacher ratio in co-taught subjects is 14:1 or lower

•  Average Tier Time group size is 8 or fewer

Your child will be ready. By the time they enter 6th grade, Timothy students are confident, capable, and prepared for the next stage—middle school. And because we share a campus, the transition is seamless. Our middle school offers:

• A dedicated 6th-grade hallway to support a confident start.

• Electives and leadership opportunities.

• Advanced academics and high school credit opportunities

• Teachers who continue to build on the faith and foundations that started in elementary.

• Timothy students don’t just move to middle school. They launch with purpose.

• All the components of research -based reading instruction are taught as appropriate to grade level standards: systematic phonics instruction, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.

• Foundational reading skills are instructed using the Bridge to Reading curriculum for grades K-2. Grades 3rd-6th utilize the Words Their Way program to individually-customize learning. 

• Modules from the Wit and Wisdom curriculum provide core instruction on reading comprehension, skill standards and writing. A rigorous and joyful text-based approach to reading instruction creates skilled readers who love to read. Inquiry-based engagement leads students through complex texts to build their comprehension and deepen their analysis of texts. 

• Vocabulary and grammar are embedded into these engaging, knowledge-based lessons. 

• Tier Time reading groups provide additional differentiation by gathering three times a week at each grade level, meeting students where they are in their progression within, or beyond the grade level standards.

• Students learn to write and write to learn about complex texts as a part of the Wit and Wisdom modules. This foundation of content knowledge developed through the close reading of texts about important topics leads students to write narratives, opinion/arguments and informative pieces.  

• Students use rubrics and clearly defined checklists to identify their progress and increase their depth and independence.

K-6 students encounter core instruction through the enVision Mathematics curriculum. This curriculum focuses on deep conceptual math understanding aided by visual models, student-centered projects, 3-act tasks, and personalized learning. Linking math to everyday experiences, incorporating hands-on experiences, and focused on problem-based learning, the enVision curriculum encourages students to solve and then share their learning. Math Fact Fluency is instructed, practiced and reinforced with the use of Rocket Math, an online and worksheet program. Tier Time math groups are also formed to differentiate instruction and experience for students. These groups either support, reinforce, or extend the standards and skills from the core curriculum. Students in our K-6 classrooms follow a path that prepares them for the Pre-Algebra and Algebra courses they will encounter in middle school. VIEW THE PATH

• Our world belongs to God and our science curriculum celebrates His creation. 

• K-6 students encounter units of science based on three main areas of Science: Physical Science, Earth Science and Life Science. Students also experience engineering and design practices within their units of study. 

• Core units from the FOSS Next Generation are based on hands-on experiences reflecting critical thinking and inquiry skills. Content and skills standards are learned through developmentally appropriate instruction.

• Purposeful integration of a Christian worldview is implemented through the use of CSI’s  And It Was Good supplementary science resource.

• Viewing the disciplinary core concepts of Civics, Geography, Economics/Finance and History through the lens of faith is central to our Social Studies instruction. 

• K-6 Units of study based on TCI: Social Studies Alive! curriculum align with standards for social studies and build on the students natural curiosity in an inquiry-based model of instruction. 

• Asking questions, developing inquiries, evaluating sources, and communicating their conclusions through informed action are the core components to the K-6 social studies experience. 

• Active engagement, experiential learning, and student-driven inquiries create a highly engaging Social Studies experience.
