There are some things you just can't teach in a classroom. Renew is a seven day program for our high school students in January. Students can choose a service trip opportunity (both locally and out-of-state), intern, or take a class on campus that's not offered during the semester. Our Renew program is just one more way we develop students into life-long servant leaders.
"We want to thank you for your service and guidance on the Timothy Costa Rica Renew trip. This mission trip has been the single most defining experience of our son's high school career. The hard work, benevolence, and school comradery has been life-changing. He has gained a better understanding of God’s world and his own personal faith. He has gained self-confidence, strength, and a sense of purpose. I can’t thank you enough for your vision, leadership, and sacrifice."
Trip Description: During Honduras Serve students will serve together as a team and minister to orphaned children and under-resourced families and adults at seven different ministry sites in the cities of Comayagua and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We will be going into impoverished areas to create relationships, share Christ, perform light work, serve, and do random acts of kindness. We will also visit and learn about the work at ASJ in Tegucigalpa, which is the capital of Honduras. The Association for a More Just Society is a Christian organization focused on the fight against corruption and violence in Honduras. We are grateful that the president of All God’s Children (AGC), Al Heerema, will join us for this trip. AGC has been leading short-term mission trips to Honduras for over 30 years. Our experience is that these trips are life changing and transformative for students and adults alike. We believe that God will use this trip for His purposes and His Kingdom.

Trip Description: Join us as we spend eight fun-filled and action-packed days serving immigrants in the Big Apple! We'll join long-term staff from Envision NYC in multiple outreach events and ongoing ministries to immigrants, especially West Africans, living in Manhattan and other boroughs. We'll explore different ethnic neighborhoods as we engage in prayer walking, helping in ESL and citizenship classes, painting some apartments, and visiting with immigrant families in their homes. We'll learn the value of taking time to listen to their stories and coming alongside them as they adjust to daily life in America. In addition, we'll be trained in transferable skills, such as how to share the Gospel and minister cross-culturally. Finally, we'll also have a little time to play tourist and enjoy a few of the many attractions NYC has to offer!

At its very core, Renew is another way to help develop courageous leaders who fully live out their purpose in the world for Christ.
High school students served at Lampstand Ministries, an urban ministry on the west side of Chicago which strives to have a life-changing impact by bringing the love of Christ to those who are seeking help.
A Renew service trip to Atlanta showed students the life-changing power of ministry and the act of simply being present.
Through a Renew internship at Northwestern Mutual, students had the opportunity to see first-hand if a career in finance was right for them.
Teaching and modeling courageous leadership and standing firm on Biblical values is more important now than ever before.
