Summer Term
The Third Semester
Summer term is an opportunity for incoming freshmen and high school students to work ahead on earning credit towards meeting high school graduation requirements. It might give students the opportunity for picking up a class the following year that they wouldn’t be able to take otherwise, or it would give them a needed study hall during a particularly challenging semester when they otherwise would not have one. Completing a full semester in three weeks means that a great deal is covered daily, but teachers also have more flexibility to create lessons that look and feel different without the interruption of bells. Students should figure on daily homework outside of class. Of course, students do have breaks during each session, but the teacher can schedule those breaks at logical times during the course of that day’s lesson.
Summer School information is listed in the Course Registration Handbook. You may find a copy of the handbook below. If you have any questions, please email Jon Hamelinck at hamelinck@timothychristian.com, or call the high school office at 630-782-4027.
