Admissions

One student at a time.

Welcome! We are delighted you are considering Timothy Christian Schools.

Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are open. If you are considering a new school for next school year we would love to meet you.

Timothy is a nondenominational PS-12th grade school located in Elmhurst, Illinois. From personalized and targeted instruction in the classroom, to clubs that give students real-world experiences — we combine challenging programs with culture that encourages a Christ-centered community. We want our students to live up to their full God-given potential. But we also train them to be courageous followers of Christ.

Timothy wants to enroll families who are wholly aligned with our mission, vision, and values. Moreover, we want a strong partnership between the school, home, and church. Applicants must be a member of a Bible believing church in order to enroll their child at Timothy. Therefore, Timothy requires a church or pastor's letter of recommendation as part of the application process.

Applying to Timothy Christian Schools

Step 1: Campus Tour

Our admissions team is available throughout the week to provide tours for prospective families. You will not only see our campus, including our athletic center and Trojan Stadium, but also see our teachers and students in action, and have your questions answered by our admissions team.

Step 3: Entrance Screening

Timothy requires various levels of screening depending on the grade level:

  • Preschool Students: parents will complete a simple online screening questionaire prior to acceptance.
  • Kindergarten: Kindergarten students will need to come to Timothy for a simple screening before acceptance.
  • 7th & 8th Grade: In-person math placement test (after acceptance).
  • 9th Grade: In-person placement test (after acceptance).

Step 4: Family Interview

Once you have toured and we have received and reviewed your application, our admissions team will contact you to 1) schedule a family interview, or 2) notify you that you have been added to our waitpool or denied. Timothy Christian Schools wants a partnership with the school, church, and home. The family interview is an opportunity to meet our administrative team and ask questions.

Step 5: Enroll

If all admissions requirements are satisfied, there is space in the grade you are applying for, and we are confident your child or children will succeed at Timothy, the admissions team will notify you of your family's acceptance and will send you an enrollment contract for your signature and ask you to pay a $500 deposit.

If there is not space within the grade you are applying for, your student will be placed in a waitpool and you will be notified if/when a spot becomes available.

Timothy Partners with Right-Fit Families

With a large number of prospective students each year, the number of applicants often exceeds the number of spots available in many grade levels. Our desire is to partner with families whose beliefs align with our mission, vision, values, and statement on marriage and sexuality. Our waitpool process helps to achieve this goal. Timothy’s waitpool is an unranked group of students who have been accepted to Timothy but may not have an immediate seat available in their grade due to demand, and who we prayerfully hope will be able to join our school family.

You’ve completed the admissions process and you’ve been accepted. Now what?

There are some key terms to note in the admissions process:

Early Enrollment: The family has completed the admissions process and is considered a right-fit for Timothy Christian Schools. There are spots available at the grade level they are seeking, and enrollment is offered. Parents have one week from the date an enrollment contract is offered to sign the contract and submit a deposit. Once the contract and deposit is received, the student is officially enrolled.

Waitpool: A student is placed in the waitpool when the family qualifies as a right-fit for Timothy Christian Schools but there is no space available. Waitpools are not prioritized wait lists. Should space become available in that grade, all candidates in the wait pool will be reviewed again by our team and the best fit candidate will be selected.

Please note that students may remain in the waitpool. Families in the waitpool will need to re-apply the following year, and updated report cards, testing, and teacher referrals will be required. If you are re-applying a second year, please reach out to the Admissions Team to get an application fee waiver code.

Deny: When a family is not considered a right-fit for Timothy, a denial email is sent from the Director of Admissions. We are happy to clarify our admissions policies and procedures, however, due to the confidential nature of the admissions process, we are unable to discuss the specific qualifications of any applicant, including reasons for denial. Please keep in mind that there is a team of people evaluating each application.

There are key time frames to note in the waitpool process.

  • You may apply to Timothy at any time. However, our priority application deadline is January 31 (for the following school year).
  • February 1: Waitpool families can typically expect to be notified of grade level openings beginning in February (for the upcoming year), and this process continues through the spring.
