Senior Elton Bajo qualified for the 3-Point Shooting Contest at State. He'll compete against the top 16 shooters is Class 2A in Champaign on Saturday morning.

State Bound: High School Robotics Team

The high school robotics team competed against 33 other teams at Von Steuben High School over the weekend. Team 4454B finished in second place and qualified for the State Tournament next weekend!

The Lady Trojans pride themselves on their defense. They utilize ball pressure, play the passing angles aggressively, and want to be in a position to offer help to their teammates. On Saturday students attended the Illinois Music Educators Conference in Peoria and sang in the ILMEA elementary All-State boys and girls choirs and high school All-State choir.

2019-2020 State Qualifying Basketball Team Honored

Nearly two years after their season came to an irrupt end, the 2019-2020 State qualifying boys basketball team finally had the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments on Thursday, December 23 at halftime during the varsity game.

VEI Team Qualifies for National Competition

Timothy's VEI team qualified for the National Competition in New York City — a first in program history! Student-run virtual business Core Inc, which leases cars, placed 1st in the Regional Competition earning them a spot in New York City in April.

Cross Country Advances To Sectionals

The boys and girls cross country teams ran at the Regional meet at Harvest Christian Academy this past Saturday. Both teams advanced to this Saturday’s Sectional meet at Lisle High School.

Historic Tennis Season: 3rd in State!

The Timothy Christian Girls Tennis team placed third at the recent IHSA 1A  State tournament. This is the highest finish in program history and first ever trophy for the Trojan tennis program.

Musicians Audition for ILMEA 

The fall District 1 ILMEA (Illinois Music Education Association) auditions are underway for 2021! The auditions were virtual for the second year in a row. Five Timothy Christian middle school musicians and three high school vocalists submitted online video recordings. They were all selected by District 1 to represent Timothy.

Cross Country Runners Set New PR's

The boys' and girls' cross country teams ran tough at the big Lisle Mane Event last Saturday. Most of our runners ran season-best times on the hilly 5K course, and many ran their fastest races of their running careers!

Young Tennis Team Rounds Out a Successful Season

The Lady Trojans tennis team is closing out another very successful tennis campaign. Following up on their undefeated 16-0 2020 season, they are currently 9-2-1 in dual meets with a very young squad. The Trojans recently wrapped up their very competitive tournament schedule.

The inspiring K-6th grade program Everybody Counts wrapped up on Friday. The week was packed full of insightful information, guests, and demonstrated how we are all created in God's image.

Golf Conference Tournament

Junior Jack Bone shot 82 on September 20 and tied for 10th in the conference tournament. Jack also placed 7th overall in the individual conference standings. Overall standings are an accumulation of points earned from dual matches throughout the season.

The high school cross country team ran at Kaneland High School this weekend. The top two girls were Cailey Schuurmann,12th grade 21:47 and Ella VanderMolen, 12th grade 21:51. Two boys Luke Hubbard, 11th 18:03 and Ryan McKenzie, 9th 18:24.

Congratulations to Caleb Lindemulder, Bella Hackert, Jen Carreon, and Zach Huiner for finishing in the top 10 for girls and boys at the recent cross country meet at Harvest Christian.

Golf Outing Raises Over $240,000 for Athletics!

We had another record breaking year! Record of 98 sponsors, 192 golfers, 15 volunteers and we also raised a record dollar amount from our raffle this year...all totaling a record high event revenue exceeding $240,000! Amazing! 

Golf Team On a Roll

The varsity golf team beat Westmont 141 to 159 at Green Meadows Golf Club in Westmont. The Trojans were led by Junior Jack Bone with a score of 3 over par 33.

XC Team Competes In Michigan

The cross country team had a great time at the Christian Schools Invitational at South Christian High School in Michigan on Saturday. On a tough 5K course, many of our athletes improved their times for this season.

Golfer Takes home Medalist Honors

Timothy Christian beat Bishop Mac at the par 37 Kankakee Elks CC, 175-181. Ben McMillian drained a 15 foot birdie putt on his last hole to take home medalist honors with a score of 39.

8th Grade Retreat: All the Glory to God

We love starting off the new school year by heading off to Camp Manitoqua with the new 8th grade class! We had two fun filled days packed with team activities, exploring the (very hot and humid!) outdoors, and spending quality time with both new and familiar faces.

A Summer to Remember: Young Life Camp

Earlier this summer, Timothy Christian High School students attended Young Life Camp. Campers played silly games, danced, and participated in lots of fun activities. But most importantly Young Life Camp was a place where students experienced the love of Jesus.

Girls Track & Field All-State Athletes

All-State track & field athletes Abby Becthel, Jenny Lumkes, Katelyn Leonard, Cailey Schuurmann placed 6th in the 4x800m relay at the State Meet. 

A Historic Season: Baseball is 2nd in State

The Timothy Christian High School baseball team not only became the first team in program history to play in the State Finals, but finished second in Class 2A and returned to Elmhurst with the state runner-up trophy.

Mission Accomplished!

We made it! When we started Mission Impossible on the first day of school on August 19, it was with a deep sense of humility and prayer. And only by the grace of God did we make it to the finish line.

Girls Track & Field Conference Meet

Timothy finished 2nd in the Conference to Immaculate Conception. It was a real team effort, as every girl that competed managed to score at least a point to add to the team total.

We are tremendously blessed by the commitment of our School Board. They are a united team with unwavering courage, inspiring vision, and a contagious passion for Christian education. The 2021-2022 Board of Directors is the team that navigated our school through the most significant and historic year in our 111 year history. All the while, they did not flinch.

Boys & Track Update

The boys track team had a successful outing on May 5, taking 1st place in a triangular meet against Wheaton St. Francis and Aurora Christian. Our athletes produced 18 personal bests!

Girls Track & Field Team Places 1st

The Timothy Girls Track and Field team is off to a great start this year! We just returned from a Tri at Westmont (with Westmont, Immaculate Conception, and Timothy) and we edged out a 1st place by one point.

Superintendent Matt Davidson Presented With Leadership Award

President of the school board Joel Tameling presented Matt Davidson with a Leadership Award at the auction. Matt has been a true visionary and leader during this unprecedented time. When other school districts went fully remote, Matt led the way with a robust Health and Education Plan for in-person learning. The students at Timothy are thriving because Matt is a true champion for them!

They are life-long learners and servant leaders. It is our privilege to recognize two alumni at Homecoming — one over 30 and one under 30.

Arnold Hoving: April 17, 1936 - April 7, 2021

Arnie Hoving, Superintendent from 1977-1993, went HOME to be with the Lord on April 7. Arnie also served in many other roles at Timothy during his legendary career, and has been a mentor and hero to so many others. Please keep the Hoving family in your prayers. We mourn with them, and yet we also rejoice because of our shared hope in Jesus.

Timothy Christian High School National Honor Society is raising funds to bless the children being housed by DuPage PADS. Visit Chipotle at 2103 Clearwater Dr. in Oak Brook on Saturday, April 10 from 4-8:00 pm and 33% of the proceeds will be donated!

I serve on several boards, mostly in the nonprofit world and mostly in Chicagoland. Over the years I wish I had been keeping track of how many times a Timothy family pops up on the radar of one of these organizations. It’s extraordinary!

All-Star Mock Trial Team Places 3rd at State

It’s case closed — Timothy’s all-star Mock Trial team has won third place in the state! Carter Bulthuis (‘21) was awarded the honor of All-State Witness and Kate Buikema (‘21) earned the title of All-State Attorney.

AmazonSmile Supports The Timothy Fund

Thank you for supporting Timothy through the AmazonSmile program. We are pleased to report that Timothy constituents spent over $130,000 in a recent three month period via this program. As a result our school received .5% of this revenue as a donation.

David Sianghio and Luke Voss qualified for Nationals by placing 4th in the Business Law & Ethics Team Decision Making Event. This is the first team that has qualified for National competition since DECA began at Timothy Christian High School in 2015.

Timothy students who are at least 12 years old and up can register for a FREE cardiac screening called an electrocardiogram (ECG) to identify students at risk for sudden cardiac death.

No Christian school in North America has a book-length history like His Faithfulness Continues. In its first century, Timothy Christian Schools grew from a small school of one teacher and thirty-four students to a school of over 1,000 students with an annual operating budget of $12 million. Junior High Science Competition

Under the leadership of middle school science teachers Mr. DeVin and Mr. Kowitz, our 7th and 8th-grade students participated in Fenwick's annual Jr. High science competition in November.

Scholastic Bowl Tournament

The Fr/So Scholastic Bowl team finished in 15th place out of 36 teams at the Rockford Scholastic Bowl tournament this past weekend. Special congratulations to Jeremiah Anema who finished 4th out of 181 individual students at the tournament.

Tell them about a Christian leader, a preacher, who dreamed big and brought positive change to our nation and even the world. Patriot's Pen Competition

This year our local VFW post hosted the Patriot’s Pen competition. This is a VFW sponsored youth essay competition that gives students an opportunity to write an essay expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme.

Aiden Hoogstra Wins VFW Voice of Democracy

Congratulations to freshman Aiden Hoogstra for winning the VFW Voice of Democracy District 19 competition. As the District winner, Aiden's essay has been submitted to the Department of Illinois VFW to compete with other District winners throughout the state.

Truly one of the most frequent compliments that I receive about Timothy is our spirit of unity. We’ve really stuck together through a year-long sequence of national and worldwide jarring events that have brought division in so many other places.

When sophomore Ryan Horner expressed interest in writing scripts in his Independent Study staff and administration rallied around him. In his individually-customized Independent Study, Ryan spent a semester writing, revising, and directing episodes of The Office.

On October 14, thirty-five high school students were inducted into the National Honors Society. The students were selected by the faculty for successfully completing their candidacy.

George Tamminga: August 25, 1929 - September 26, 2020

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of George Tamminga, former principal of Timothy Christian Elementary School, and dear friend to many. Mr. Tamminga went home to to be with his Lord and Savior on September 26.

Timothy Christian Students Graduate with Traditional Pomp Under Changing Circumstances

Timothy Christian High School graduates had plenty of pomp to go with the unusual circumstance of their commencement Friday evening in Elmhurst.

The 84 seniors were originally invited to walk across the stage for their diplomas in a traditional ceremony with family and classmates watching, but the unpredictable pandemic took the ceremony away, just as it did the last weeks of their final year of school.

Chandler Brady, a 6th grader,  participated on a 6 month team competitive research project with DuPage County Jr. ACT-SO. The project was on the long-term effects of using plastic bags and impacts of chemical exposure to polyethylene on humans.

Playing basketball in March is an exciting time. The phrase “March Madness” that we so often hear this time of year originated in Illinois to describe the atmosphere of high school playoff basketball over 100 years ago. And anyone who was in the gym at St. Joseph High School this past Friday night can certainly attest to the madness of playoff basketball they witnessed.

As we are in the midst of cold and flu season, and hearing a lot in the media about Coronavirus (COVID-19), we’d like to stress the importance of having healthy students in our classrooms.

Visitation Solo Festival

On Saturday morning, February 22, about 40 TC 5-8 graders participated in the Visitation Solo Festival at Visitation School in Elmhurst. Students performed a solo for a judge and received comments about their musicianship. Each student received a medal as well. Thank you students for challenging yourselves in your musical journey!”

Band Updates

February was a busy month for our instrumentalists! On Saturday, Feb. 15, Mr. Pelt brought a pep band consisting of Timothy middle and high school band students (and one parent performer) to play crowd favorites before a Chicago Wolves hockey game.

Celebrate Black History Month

Join our Bridge Builder Club for the fundraising dinner “Soul Food: Its History and Moving Forward.” This event will take place in the HS Learning Commons and promises to be an evening of dining and dialogue. All are welcome to join us! Cost is $5 per person.

Volunteer Opportunities to Serve our Teachers

Our teachers faithfully serve our children. The teacher appreciation committee organizes dinners to thank them on the evenings of conferences. It is a huge blessing to them during a very busy week.

Grades K-4 will have conferences very similar to our fall conferences, focusing on student progress and growth. Grades 5-8 will have Student-led Conferences. Your son/daughter will share information with you about their progress this year, including their identified strengths and areas for improvement and further growth.

We welcome anyone to sell or shop our sale. Items will include seasonal gently used clothes (baby, kids, teen, prom, maternity), books, toys, baby gear and sports equipment.

Family Fun Fair & Open House

There’s more fun at the Timothy Fun Fair! Friday, Feb. 21 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the WAC. This year we have bigger games  – a bungee run, inflatable pony race, and mega obstacle course.  Come and spray you favorite Timothy staff with the silly shower and test your skills at the carnival games.
