Five tennis players competed in the IHSA State tournament — the most in school history! Ben Rowell and Micah Bosman won their first round match and then lost to 1st seed and eventual State champs from U-High Normal. Jack Rhiner and Payton Ward (subbing for injured James Shervheim) lost round 1, but came back with two solid wins in back draw and dropped their Friday match. They received two team points for those wins. Winston Chen (freshman) lost both rounds, but was very competitive in those matches and gained State tourney experience. Timothy finished with four points and 31st place out of 162 teams. Jack and Payton ended in the top 32 in state —not bad for two partners who had never played together in high school!
