The Mock Trial team had a very successful Saturday. They beat 34 teams at the DuPage County Tournament held at the courthouse in Wheaton. The Trojans faced Wheaton Academy in the first round and then had a very difficult opponent in Hinsdale Central in the second round. The team scored enough points in those two rounds to earn a spot in the championship trial against Niles West. At the conclusion of that trial the Trojans were announced as champions.
Joshua Pae was named one of seven Outstanding Attorneys in the tournament. For the championship trial Josh was named Outstanding Attorney and Calvin Veldman was named Outstanding Witness. Timothy also had a B team competing in the tournament, against Southland College Prep and York’s B team. Competing for the A team were senior Adrian Van Stee, juniors Grant McKenzie, Adam Van Prooyen, and Calvin Veldman, and sophomores Kate Buikema, Paul Kalapala, and Josh Pae. The B team was made of juniors Calvin Groenewold and Jonah Nelson, sophomores Carter Bulthuis, Graham DeHaan, Lauren Ellens, and freshmen Peter Nelson, Jonathan Pae, Kaitlyn Radoha, David Sianghio, and Leah Tornow.
Congratulations to the team and coaches!
